The Feb. 12, 2007 issue of the European edition of TIME magazine -- available in newsstands throughout Europe as of Feb. 2nd -- carries a full-page factual announcement on the Armenian Genocide, along with a complimentary DVD, in English and French, which contains a compelling 52-minute documentary on the Armenian Genocide by French director Laurence Jourdan.

The 24th General Convention of the Ramgavar Party (Armenian Democratic Liberal Organization) will take place in Athens (Greece) on February 24-26, 2006. The District Committee of France is participating with its 7 delegates from Greater Paris, Rhone Alpes-Centre, Bouche du Rhone and Alpes Maritimes chapters, as well as from other regions of Western Europe.

The British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its Ambassador to Turkey Sir Peter Westmacott, refused to consider the request made by the Turkish Parliament last April to reconsider the "Blue Book" a 1916 parliamentary report, formally titled, "Treatment of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire 1915-16," that documents the systematic, deliberate and politically motivated nature of the Armenian Genocide.

The European Council, in a meeting earlier today in
Brussels, voted to open discussions, without any preconditions, on Turkey's
future admission to the European Union. The process is set to begin on
October 3, 2005.

The latest speech by the Archbishop of Greece Christodoulos against Turkey's membership to the European Union (EU) agitated the backwater of the Greek political establishment. It is an issue which all parties in the Greek parliament agree on, while the Greek Socialist government and the Liberal Opposition promote it in the EU institutions, without ever explaining to the Greek people what are the consequences of Turkey's membership to the EU. Archbishop Christodoulos had the courage to word not only the truth, which is that Turkey has no position in the EU, but also expressed what the national interests direct.

Turkey has made many important reforms since last year in order to meet the
Copenhagen political criteria for EU membership but still needs to
go considerably further and rigorously implement the reforms in many areas

More than one generation will pass before Turkey will be a member of the European Unions, claims former Danish Prime Minister and Social Democrat top candidate for the June European Election, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen.

It has been brought to our attention that the UK Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia, Mrs. Thorda Abbott-Watt has repeatedly denied the genocide of 1.5 million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire during the years 1915/16...

For the first time in the United Kingdom a County Council has passed a motion recognising the truth of the Armenian Genocide, and also calling on Turkey to end her economic blockade of Armenia .
